Description

Data Quality Assistant – Home Based. Close to Brackley, Northampton, Milton Keynes

Permanent 35 hours per week

Rate: £13.42 per hour

 Vacancy No: 10635

35 hours per week although flexi time can be built into 14 of these hours if preferred as long as a core of 21 hours could be conducted Monday to Wednesday each week if workloads require this.

20 days paid annual leave excluding bank holidays, increasing by 1 day per year for every full year of service

This role is a Data Quality Associate, which sits within the client services team within the Tech division, reporting into the Data Quality Manager as part of a team of six remote working staff.

We are looking for someone who loves a process and has massive attention to detail and:

  • Is highly organised and enjoys creating and maintaining order.
  • Is able to multi task, there is a large amount of data cleansing to complete weekly and with direction from line management it is essential the postholder can meet deadlines and prioritise multiple work tasks at once.
  • Has a good working knowledge of Excel – the ability to perform V look ups, create pivot tables and be confident handling calculations in 1,000s of rows of data will be an asset in this role.
  • Is computer literate.  Full training will be given but this role is part of a wider technical team so an enjoyment and interest in technology will make the role more interesting to the post holder.
  • Errs towards perfectionism – this role will be central to the quality of the reporting, the ability to be responsible and a desire to deliver great results is important.
  • Is numerate, this role does not require complex maths ability, but a lot of the reporting is numbers based in Excel so being comfortable dealing with numbers is advantageous.
  • Has good written and verbal communication skills.  This role will be liaising internally with colleagues and, on occasion, externally with clients both on email and on the telephone or Teams, so being confident, polite, and personable is important.
  • Is resourceful enough to work alone unsupervised but knows when to seek help from line managers or colleagues.  This role is home based and part of a relatively small team in a small business so whilst colleagues will be on hand, a lot of the time, the post holder will be working alone at home and will need to be comfortable with this.
  • Is confident enough to raise concerns with co-workers or line management if the post holder thinks that systems or processes could be improved.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for receiving latest data cleansing exports from the line manager.
  • Checking exports for obvious errors in the initial load process – such as abnormally high or low sku counts, missing columns, unusual products, or characters.
  • Applying the correct product attributes within the Excel data cleansing files to any products that have sold more than £200 over 12 months.
  • Maintaining timeliness and accuracy as much as possible so that reporting is correctly categorised and as up to date as practical.
  • Building up knowledge of the product attributes applicable to each client – for example, the Product Department and Category hierarchies used in each data set, the supplier and brand names within each client’s data set and the fields that require cleaning each week.
  • Providing completed files back to your line manager who will check your work and arrange for it to be imported back into the database.
  • Working with line management to monitor and maintain agreed classification KPIs.
  • Liaising with co-workers to pass export and import files from IT Services to colleagues and handle any queries.  Ensuring the prompt resolution of queries and the smooth and timely flow of import and export files for clients not directly undertaken by the postholder.
  • Deputise for your line manager when she is away from work.
  • Deal with data queries from end users on email.

Other:

  • A laptop computer will be provided.
  • A small working from home allowance for equipment and utilities is included.
  • Proximity to Brackley or Milton Keynes is advantageous as this is close to co-workers.
  • Out of pocket expenses for any travel will be reimbursed at .45p/mile + incidentals although travel requirements are very minimal.
