Description

Salary: CIRCA £45,000 + 25 days holiday, employee reward scheme which is similar to a bonus (Earn points which transfer into money at the end of the year), volunteering day on top of holiday to use for any kind of charity work they wish to do, private medical insurance paid for by the company, pension at a rate of EE 5% ER 4%

This role is a stand-alone role – No people management is required
 
Overall purpose
 
The Business Systems Manager (in this stand-alone role) has overall responsibility for executing the Firm’s IT strategy which a key component in driving the business forward.  The role will be a mix of liaising with the outsourcing provider, advising the board on IT developments and relevant solutions  and overseeing the implementation of IT projects.
 
The successful candidate will be a quick learner with ability to pick up new software, will be an excellent problem solver, will be up-to-date with current innovation in IT and able juggle many tasks at once.
 
Key Tasks
 
·         Manage IT outsourcing company to ensure that all SLA’s met
·         Manage relationship with software providers to ensure delivery of service & keep abreast of software developments and how it affects the business
·         Research and identify new technologies relevant to the profession
·         Ensure security of the Firm’s IT systems
·         Management of software costs and licences
·         Prepare IT strategy for presentation to Management Board (MB) on a 6 monthly basis
·         Project implementation and providing advice on future technology within the industry and related industry sectors
·         Produce IT reports on a monthly basis for MB meetings
·         Liaise with internal departments to understand their needs; recommend solutions and provide support to users
·         Research Data Protection requirements and ensure the Firm is compliant, including training of staff where appropriate
·         Project management for new software – from producing spec; recommending provider; testing; roll out/launch and training
·         Management of the Firm’s IT asset register
·         Set up and maintain IT procedures manual
·         Resolve onsite IT issues in absence of outsourcing company or to cover busy periods
·         Provide induction training to new staff, including initial IT functions, specific departmental software and Microsoft packages
·         Produce Training User guides and upload for staff to refer to
 
Desirable Systems knowledge
 
·         Office 365 suite of apps
·         Practice management software (CCH & People HR)
·         Document Management software (Virtual Cabinet)
·         Any exposure to the following: CaseWare, Star Payroll, IPS, Pro Tax, Cor Tax
 
Skills required
 
·         Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
·         Ability to form and maintain relationships & gain trust and respect from stakeholders - internal and external
·         Ability to communicate with non IT staff at all levels
·         Project management skills
·         Ability to think strategically but adopt a hands on approach and roll up your sleeves to get the job done
·         Experience of managing an outsourced IT function an advantage
·         Experience in Professional Services an advantage
·         Any IT related qualifications / certifications

·         RDS server operating system update
·         Power BI report building
·         SharePoint adoption
·         Workflow efficiencies
·         System automation

Hours of Work: Office hours are 9am – 5.30pm but flexible working is available. Core hours are 10am – 4pm so you can change around your start and end times as long as you work 7.5 hours in the day
