Salary: up to £45,000
My client are looking for an experienced and hands on Marketing and Business Development individual to help them identify and understand opportunities in the market to support their market share strategy and drive the growth of the London office and its core strategic sectors.
The ideal candidate will feel confident to develop and drive company Marketing and Business Development plans in a hands-on way, support partners in managing allocated sectors growth and regular reporting on progress and achievements.
You will be part of the marketing team, drawing on all the firms resources and will play an active, hands-on role in driving the growth of your allocated core strategic sectors in London and work closely with other Business Development specialists to achieve targets. You will be able to draw on partners specialist knowledge of these sectors to develop your knowledge and understanding.
You will also be expected to be a proactive member of the central marketing team, bringing ideas, support and leadership to the table when necessary.
Qualification and Skills
· 10+ years’ experience in a Marketing or Business Development role
· Desirable to have experience of professional services industry
· Desirable to have experience of working in a large firm
· Desirable to have hands on knowledge and experience of the power of social media and digital
· Able to build strong relationships at Partner level and provide valuable input into marketing strategy
· Must have a ‘hands on’ approach
· Able to manage conflicting priorities and consistently deliver high quality work to deadlines
· Experience in assisting the development, delivery and ROI of marketing campaigns
· Is a good communicator, has excellent presentation skills, takes the initiative and is hard working with a positive attitude
· Has the ability to prioritise effectively and works accurately and well under pressure and to tight deadlines
· Competent user of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
· Creativity - the ability to come up with interesting ideas that adhere to brand values
· Tender Writing – desirable, not essential
Main Responsibilities
· To work with your London strategic sectors partners to create annual Marketing and BD plans ensuring synergy with strategic initiatives and prospect targeting is strategically integrated, and once agreed take responsibility for delivery
· Collaborate closely with the other BD experts and Marketing teams to share best practice, and to utilise other campaign activity where appropriate
· Researching opportunities, identifying and supporting the targeting of potential clients
· Keep and manage a pipeline of pending opportunities
· Build understanding of your allocated sectors, potential opportunities and market, competition, and trends
· Deepen and broaden relationships with existing accounts to drive service line penetration
· Co-ordinate client relationship events and deliver return on investment through deepened relationships and increased opportunities
· Liaise with Digital Team to gain their input onto strategic digital targeting campaigns
· Identify and build relationships with regional influencers: raising your profile with key businesses and multipliers, including sector specialists, lawyers, banks, etc
· Maintain statistics on marketing activity undertaken and leads generated
Marketing Events for core strategic sectors
· To understand what clients, contacts and prospects are most receptive to with regards to event type and ensure the firm is not merely keeping up with competitors’ activities but leading the way
· To agree and plan both online and offline events, their purpose, target audience and budgets with Partners
· To oversee the organisation of events using other team members expertise to support you
· To attend functions as required and undertake any follow up work as necessary
· Ensure feedback is gathered from attendees, analysed and is followed up with a focus on prospects
Marketing Literature, Advertising and Sponsorship
· To identify opportunities relevant to London plans, and put together a well-researched and considered business case where necessary for expenditure
· Regularly reviewing marketing collateral to ensure it is up to date and strong in consultation with the Head of Marketing / Partners
· To establish / maintain regular contacts with local business links of relevance Link/banks/other professional in order to promote the company and develop BD opportunities
Digital Marketing
· Work with the digital specialist team to ensure an innovative and up to date approach is being implemented for Marketing and BD purposes in London, particularly for the core strategic sectors
Monitoring Competition
· Monitor activities of competitors and bring these to the attention of the Marketing Partner
