Salary: £30,000 to £45,000 DOE
Our client lead the market with an array of exciting, cutting edge solutions dedicated to delivering digital healthcare, specifically remote patient monitoring and telehealth.
Due to rapid growth, they now have a requirement for a self-driven and highly motivated DevOps Technician to provide systems, operational deployment, and network support.
The role reports to the Technical Implementations Manager and is key to the efficient delivery, development and automation of the build, deployment, and support of the company’s technical infrastructure and product solutions.
Key Activities:
The role of the DevOps Technician:
· Liaise with the Development, V&V, IT and Operations departments understand Implementation requirements and build and implement technical (hardware and software) solutions
· Undertake the implementation of Application upgrades and application patches
· Undertake the implementation of security and operating system updates and liaise with IG manager to ensure Pen test vulnerabilities and Cyber Essentials vulnerabilities are addressed
· Implement operational supporting applications upgrades, such as Spirateam, Mantis, and Nagios
· Create and deploy data extractions and run data dump reports as required
· Construct new operational instances for testing and deployment
· Assist with the automation of currently manual windows updates and manual installations of releases, patches and data dumps
· Manage the day-to-day backup facilities
· Provide telephone support for application infrastructure
· Plan and deploy automation to deliver solutions at scale
Key Skills required:
· Experience in working with and designing automation solutions at scale – particularly infrastructure, deployment, and testing.
· Experience in the use of Build tools to allow for continuous integration and development
· Experience in Release engineering.
· A basic knowledge of coding in any of the popular coding language. A knowledge of any scripting language.
· A working knowledge of the tools and technologies for managing source code.
· A knowledge of IT operations and sysadmin tasks involved in the integration and deployment processes.
· Some familiarity with basic concepts of Linux would be helpful.
· Some experience in software testing would be desirable.
· Experience in the use of development automation tools.
· Ability to balance and prioritise between technical and commercial demands.
· Good communication skills and be a team player.
