Salary: £35,000 to £40,000
The Technical Operations Team are responsible for the design, installation, and support for all hardware & software to internal and external customers, this includes Operating Systems, Databases and Applications.
The IS Infrastructure Engineer will work alongside technical specialists within a small internal team on a Monday – Friday daytime rota (Covering 8AM – 6PM) providing first class technical support and services to internal users.
The suitable candidate should have previous experience of working in a mission critical environment using enterprise level hardware and software, although on the job training will be provided as needed.
Skills & Experience:
Candidates should have experience in most of the following areas
· Service Desk Systems
· Service Monitoring and Alerting
· MS Windows OS Administration (Windows Server 2012, 2016 or 2019)
· On Premise and Azure Active Directory
· Office365 Exchange Online
· Microsoft Intune and Autopilot
· Microsoft 365 Cloud PCs
· Microsoft Teams
· Microsoft O365 / Azure Security Suite / Conditional Access
· Backup Management & Configuration
· Hypervisor & Storage Administration
· Vendor patching (Software & Firmware)
The candidate should be able to demonstrate:
· Good understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and basic networking (VLANs, ACLs)
· Basic understanding of SSL certificates and how they are installed to various solutions (e.g. IIS, Apache, Azure)
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
· A commitment to learning industry certifications, supported by the client
Any skills or experience in the below technologies would be advantageous but is not essential
· Scripting and task automation using appropriate tooling i.e., PowerShell
· SQL Server Management
· Tenable I/O
· Any vendor certifications
· ITIL knowledge – principles and application
· Knowledge of ISO27001 and 9001 Certification
Responsibilities:
· Provision of Service Desk Support to Internal Customers and Systems for all hardware platforms, operating systems, database management systems managed by the Team
· Ensure all elements of Infrastructure are implemented and maintained in accordance with defined standards, as approved by the Architecture team
· Management and Monitoring of all internal hardware and systems
· Implementation of Patching and Firmware Upgrades
· Author knowledge base articles for internal staff
· Adherence to Company and Team policies and working practices
· May be required to work at other Company Sites or Datacentres from time to time
· Eventual Participation in a 24x7 On Call Rota (Paid Extra)
