Salary: £40,000
Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage the Data Migration workstream on deployment projects reporting into the Project Manager
· Liaise with other project workstreams, where interdependencies exist, to ensure that decisions taken support the data migration deliverables. Feed any decisions taken within the workstream back into these other groups
· Provide regular status reports to identified staff to ensure continued tracking of workstream progress
· Record and track issues relating to the Data Migration workstream and escalate to project staff where appropriate. Provide issue resolution and alternative solution paths.
· Provide/support the client with appropriate documentation/templates e.g. data migration strategy, IFF specifications, data migration scope, workstream plan, data migration mappings, etc.
· Work with the client to support the identification of issues with the deploying organisation’s data and documenting a plan to resolve them
· Work with the client to identify data that will not be migrated into the new solution and advise a suitable archiving strategy.
· Load data into the deployed solution using tools built on SQL Server Integration Services
· Work with the client to analyse the error reports produced as a result of each data load and advise other workstreams of work off activities required to resolve issues
· Support the client in the creation of their data extracts
· Where the company are responsible for data extracts, work with the client to map legacy data items to required format and develop the required extracts
· Support client testing of migrated data across the lifecycle of the deployment
· Identify, investigate and where appropriate escalate software issues and assist with resolution
· Work with live customers to investigate and resolve issues. Create / Update relevant documentation

Person Specification:
Experience:
· Previous experience of successful data migration
· Experience working in or for the NHS
· Several years’ experience working in or for a hospital information department
· Working knowledge of the NHS data model and Statutory Reporting in the NHS
· An in-depth knowledge of hospital PAS and Clinical data
· Several years recent experience using and developing scripts in Microsoft SQL including exposure to SSIS
· Understanding of the importance of the data collection and reporting required by central government to record NHS activity
· Experience developing/designing reports and reporting systems for end users
· Experience of dealing with end users and technical support teams desirable
· A successful and proven track record in working to tight deadlines in a busy challenging environment
· Experience of dealing with clients and prioritising outstanding tasks
· Experience using JIRA to manage issues (desirable)
Skills Required:
· Proven record of problem solving
· Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills both orally and in writing
· MS SQL knowledge to include:
o Developing SQL scripts for data analysis from scratch
o Creating and amending SQL functions and procedures.
o Creating batch jobs (desirable)
o performance tuning existing queries
o General DBA work (e.g. backup/restore)
· MS SQL Server 2005 and above (2014 is desirable) with experience of
o Use of SSIS to transform data
o Production of end user reports using SSRS (desirable)
· Knowledge of one or more of the following EPR/PAS systems (or similar)
o Medway / Careflow EPR
o iSoft iPM
o Cerner Millennium
o iSoft Lorenzo
· C# (desirable)
· Azure cloud data (desirable)
· Knowledge of MS Excel for data analysis and reporting, including VBA
· Excellent MS Office skills including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
· Good understanding of the issues regarding data migration (e.g. configuration item mappings, data field mappings, unique identifiers, de-duplication etc.)
· Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of technical, non-technical, management and NHS staff
· Ability to organise and co-ordinate areas of work for yourself and others
· Self-starter with great determination and motivation to succeed
· Ability to influence, organise and plan
· Ability to work within project constraints to ensure that milestones and delivery dates are met
· Able to work away from home and willingness to travel
· Knowledge of information governance regulations
· Driven to improve ways of working
